I downloaded the game yesterday and played through 3-4 of the missions, and everything was GREAT! Today, however, I went to play the game and - POOF - all of my people and game detail (sandbags, barbed wire, vehicles, etc) are INVISIBLE!! I rebooted my laptop - no change. I verified the files through Steam - no change. I played with the graphics settings within the game - no change.The ONLY thing that changed from yesterday to today is that my laptop went into hibernation overnight. Other than that, nothing has changed (except that my people in the game are now making like they are all Wonder Woman's jet).Seriously, what is going on with this game??? I can understand if the stuff was invisible from the start of the game.
Then I could blame it on a graphics card or drivers or something like that. But to tease me with GREAT gameplay through several missions yesterday, then to knife me today with invisible people??? Man, that's just cold. I lowered the graphics settings to the lowest possible - no change. I noticed an interesting thing today.
I played Company of Heros Opposing Fronts for the first time today and it worked great. The second time that I tried to play (just a few minutes ago) all of the people and detail are HIDDEN! This is like a 'play it once - and only once' kind of problem. Any subsequent launches of the game result in hidden people and details (aka, unplayable game - but we got your money anyway).This is getting very frustratng.
If anyone from STEAM is reading this, maybe this is something that you guys need to look into.
